  對鍛件質量的檢驗主要有外部觀察法和內部測試法兩種。外部觀察法顧名思義就是通過觀察產品外觀如鍛件的形狀、幾何尺寸、表面狀況等進行觀察測量,看看其是否符合標準,是否有外部缺陷等。具體來說,就是檢查鍛件外型尺寸是否符合圖樣的規定,表面是否有缺陷,如鍛件表面的裂紋、褶皺、起泡、壓傷、坑洞、雜質、劃傷等物理缺陷。內部測試法檢驗的主要是鍛件的化學成分分析、宏觀和微觀組織、力學性能等方面是否合格。這個就需要用專門儀器來進行高倍放大檢查的檢驗流程,其目的主要是檢查鍛件是否存在如內部斷裂、疏松縮孔、樹枝狀結晶和白點、流線紊亂、穿流等缺陷,還包括鍛件的抗拉強度、延展性、硬度、可塑性、耐熱溫度等方面的檢驗。
